At barely 18 years old, Peter
Gabriel, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford and Anthony Phillips first go in the
recording studio under Jonathan King's (The King of Hits :) guidance. It
was an interesting album, that shows the bands writing skills and shows
hints of their musical genius. From Genesis to
Revelation is actually a concept album, with the concept being the
beginning of the earth. The songs flow into each other perfectly. The
music is very beautiful. For me Genesis was the 20th century Beethovens
and Mozarts of our times.
The finished version will be a full blown SeerMusic rock orchestra with 2 drummers ala Genesis Live and full percussion and the samples will be tweaked, some are a bit to noisy. The hard part will be not screwing it up and making it sound like elevator music :). Most of the hard work has been done over the past 4 years, sequencing and creating the sample library for Reality. I got the idea from an old Genesis Video that had Jonathan King saying that someone has to cover these songs, they are too good to be only in the original recordings. FGTR Side One MP3 - 32 MB Quite mellow, I've kept the drums in the background. The simple beauty of this music grows on you. There's a 10 second silence between song one and two as I missed the low strings, oops :) FGTR Side 2 MP3 - 28 MB I've turned the drums up a bit in this one and from the top I think you can hear 'HIT':) It then flows back to the beauty of Genesis. The last song isn't complete, stops about 2 minutes early, will fix. Enjoy. I'm the 'number one' Genesis fan in this world as I was introduced to them in '78. My best friend Mark and I are planning on seeing as many shows in 2007 as possible. Genesis returns !!!!, can't wait. From Genesis to Revelation. Best, Ian.
